Returning to Earth
Last Tuesday there were two more surprising elections.
No Democrat’s been elected mayor of Miami in 30 years – last Tuesday a Democrat won by 19 points.
In a Georgia State House election in a district Trump won by 12 points a Democrat won by two points.
Why’s that happening?
Giving a speech in Pennsylvania the same day Trump boasted he’d ‘saved America,’ that he’d won ‘three elections in a row’, that he’s doing ‘a better job than Lincoln, better than Washington, better than anybody.’
We’ve watched this happen in the past: A man gets elected president, pride soaring believes he’s invulnerable – then in the next election people send him a message that brings him back down to earth.
